Malawi Nature, Culture & Lake Tour Itinerary

Arrive Lilongwe International Airport. Met and Assisted by Sunrise Ground Tours representative then transfer to Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Senga Bay.

Overnight: Sunbird Livingstonia Beach.

After breakfast enjoy tropical fish and crocodile farms tour.

Afternoon, a tour to local typical Malawian fishermen village.

Overnight: Sunbird Livingstonia Beach.

Transfer by road to Mua Mission, Malawi’s premier museum where one learns some of Malawian origins, tribal wars, Christianity and Islamic conflicts, and slave trade influence.

Buy one of best wooden carvings in the land.

Traditional dances can be arranged at a nominal fee.

Overnight: Mua Mission.

Depart Mua Mission for Mvuu Camp in Liwonde National  Park. Transfer by boat in the rainy season (Dec-Mar) is a must otherwise during dry season the transfer is by road.

Overnight: Mvuu Camp. An upgrade to Mvuu Lodge is available.

Days spent in the Liwonde National Park. Activities here include:

Depart Liwonde National Park for Zomba Plateau.

Overnight: Sunbird Ku Chawe

Enjoy the Zomba Plateau Tour. The tour takes you to Chingwe’s Hole, Emperor’s View and Queen’s View passing through seemingly evergreen pine trees.

Overnight: Sunbird Ku Chawe.

Depart Zomba for Thyolo passing through the foot of Mulanje Mountain – the highest mountain in Central Africa. The scenery is breathtaking with seemingly unending tea plantations as go round meandering road.
